January 25, 2018 – Interfaith “opportunity” at St. Basil Event
“Christians in Holy Land”
To: Interfaith Dialogue Team Members
Happy New Year!

Are you ready to learn more and hone your interfaith skills at an event?  This is NOT part of the Adult Catholic Education program where I got my initiation.

It is sponsored by the Diocese of Cleveland, featuring Fr. Thomas Balma, Vicar for Ecumenical and Inter-religious Affairs of Archdiocese of Chicago. Topic is “HOLY LAND: CHRISTIANS IN THE MIDDLE EAST” on Thursday, Jan.25, 7 PM at St. Basil the Great in Brecksville. Details are in the attached church bulletin.

An east side event is also offered in Wickliffe, Friday, January 26, at 1:30 PM.

See you there,

To Interfaith Team members:

Here’s another possible event to attend. This is an “Interfaith Harmony Week Prayer Gathering” sponsored by Adult Catholic Education on Monday, Feb. 5 at ST. MATTHIAS Church at 7 PM at 1200 West Sprague Rd. in Parma.

I was told by the host church that the participants are leaders from diverse faith traditions in the Cleveland area-Lutheran, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and Sunni Islam. Fr. Ernest Falardeau, former Ecumenical and Inter-religious Affairs Director, from NY will facilitate.

Details of the event are in the ACE brochure below. The wording is quite revealing. Put on your critical thinking caps.
